Spinone Italiano are a versatile hunting breed. Pointing upland game to splashing into the water to retrieve a downed bird. This dog was bred to hunt with its master on foot, working slowly, and close to gun. They go about their business in an efficient manner. Sometimes thought to have an aloof manner. They are extremely social, bonding very closely with it's family. They are laid back, affectionate, and often times clownish. Most Spinone love playing with other dogs and get along well with children. They are not meant to be kennel dogs, Spinone want/need to have human interaction and be a part of the family.
